DESGN (Designing for Cisco Internetwork Solutions)

Course description

DESGN course will enable learners to gather customers internetworking requirements, identify solutions, and design the network infrastructure and elements to ensure the basic functionality of the proposed solutions. The purpose of this course is to provide the learners with the knowledge and skills to achieve associate level competency in network design. This course is the first design course in a design curriculum supporting the design certification track. It focuses on the technology and methods available today.

  • Describe the principles of network design and present the guidelines for building a network design solution
  • Describe how the Enterprise Composite Network model simplifies the complexity of today's networks
  • Design the Enterprise Campus in a hierarchical modular fashion
  • Design the Enterprise WAN network
  • Design a network addressing plan
  • Select optimal routing protocols for the network
  • Evaluate security solutions for the network
  • Access the design implications of voice transport across the network

Course duration

5 days

Prerequisites

Should be familiar with basic internetworking technologies such as LAN, WAN, bridging, switching, protocols, and network management. INTRO and ICND are good foundations for this course.
Target Audience

For those who have a good knowledge of networks and device configuration who wish to learn more about network design principles from the Cisco point of view and are working on CCDA certification.
